1. Tell us about your story in 13 Deja Vu. 

Widow's Prey is about a woman born without a soul. I had a great time writing this because the main character, Tendra, is so evil. Her name, which is based off the Latin form of preying mantis, came from the fact that female preying mantes eat their male mates after mating. I wanted to basically create a human mantis and that's what I did with this story.

2. What is the one thing you wish your readers knew about you?

I write some really horrific stuff. This is because I work as a therapist with at risk kids and families. I see and hear horrific real-life stuff all day long. For me, writing dark fiction is a way of seeing the beauty in the darkness and making bad situations or people into art. It's therapy.

3. Can you describe your writing style in three words?

Blunt. Precise. Loud.

4. What does your writing process look like? 

I write 5,000 words a day every day. I won't go to sleep until I have achieved that. The next day, I decide what to keep and what to toss. I'm really disciplined with writing because I was a journalist for years in my first career.

5. Who is your favourite character that you have written, and why?

Jimmie Putnam, Jr. He's a lovable serial killer with a way about him that almost makes him forgivable. His mother, Momma, is a close second.

6. How long does it take you to write a book?

Six months for a novel and two for a novella.

7. What writing challenges have you had to overcome?

Getting a schedule and finding balance. Learning to marketing and building a street team.

8. What is your favourite novel and why?

The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath. I love the reality in that book. It's almost a memoir but not quite.

9. Tell us more about some of your other books (especially the one you want featured)

I have more than 20 books out now with ten more releasing this year. My current focus is my DIARY OF A SERIAL KILLER SERIES with Jimmie and Momma. I am currently working on the prequel, Momma.
